IDR Law supports Grief Encounter
We’re a family-friendly, approachable Law firm specialising in contentious probate. We often take calls from people in need of advice about inheritance dispute who may not always go on to instruct us formally. If clients do not instruct us after an initial call, we’re happy to have helped and we don’t open a live case or charge for our time.
Over the last 12 months IDR Law have provided free legal advice and assistance to people in need of help, but who did not subsequently become clients. We track our time and have found that the time we spent giving such assistance in the last year had a value of over £100K.
Even if people don’t formally instruct us to work on their behalf, we believe our time has been of value and, this week, we have launched a Just Giving Page inviting those clients we’ve helped to make a donation to our chosen charity, Grief Encounter.
Grief Encounter is one of the UK’s leading bereaved child charities, providing free support to bereaved children and their families. This wonderful charity works with children and young people who have lost a parent or sibling, offering tailor-made support programs for each child, to help alleviate the pain caused by the death of someone close.
Grief Encounter also provides a free, confidential helpline, grieftalk, on 0808 802 0111. Originally set up to support bereaved children and young people, grieftalk has recently been opened up to frontline workers and to anyone affected by the loss of a loved one due to Covid-19.
Grief Encounter comments: “More people than ever are needing our services. Like many charities, we’ve been hit badly by the Covid-19 pandemic. With most of our fundraising events cancelled, we’ve had to adapt to new ways of raising funds.
