IDR Law top ranking in industry guides

We’re thrilled to announce that, despite only being founded in 2017, IDR has secured amazing ranking in the two industry legal guides.

IDR Law is an innovative practice which specialises in resolving inheritance disputes. It’s all we do and, because it’s all we do, we are entirely focused on this niche sector of Law. We bring well over 100 years of combined experience which enables us to offer the highest level of support, expertise and advice to clients and referrers.

We work as a team within the firm, and we work as a team within the legal sector, offering support, guidance and training to other law firms and organisations as well as a first-class service to our clients.

We’re delighted that IDR has once again been ranked as a leading firm in the Legal 500. We’re also really excited to share the news that IDR Law’s founder and director, Martin Holdsworth, has been ranked as a member of the Legal 500 Hall of Fame – a top spot open only to those lawyers who have been ranked for six consecutive years as a leader in their field, and a rank held for life. Congratulations Martin from all of us at IDR Law!

It’s not just the Legal 500 who recognise IDR Law are at the top of our field. We’ve also been ranked in Band 1 of Chambers and partners – we’re in the top tier of legal firms in the whole of Yorkshire and the North East. Martin Holdsworth has been ranked as a band 1 individual (he’s keeping his top spot) and Richard Thomas is now ranked as an Associate to watch. Congratulations Richard!

Martin comments: “I’m really pleased to be ranked as a member of the Hall of Fame but I wouldn’t be here without the amazing team who make up IDR Law and I’m delighted that the service we offer our clients and other organisations has been recognised for its excellence by these leading industry guides.”

 Why IDR Law ranks highly

Legal 500 comments: “Described as ‘outstanding’, the contentious trusts and probate team at IDR law is led by ‘expert in his field’ Martin Holdsworth. The firm, a pure specialist in this area of work, is particularly well known for handling matters relating to negligence, equitable remedy, and beneficiary/executor disputes. Notably the firm recently developed a ‘1975 Act’ software utility that enables prospective clients to see if they can bring a claim for financial provision. Louise Sacky, Richard Thomas, Kate Saunders and Eleanor Stenson are other important contacts.”

Peer testimonial: “This is a great team of people specialising in a niche area of work. As they have been remote workers since Martin Holdsworth set the firm up, lockdown was not an issue for them as it was business as usual. We often use this firm to support our own clients as they specialise in more detail in contentious work than we do.”

Comments from client: “Richard Thomas was always available to answer any questions and ensure that we were kept fully up to date with progress. He was able to keep everything progressing and always worked towards a solution to the client’s situation, while still ensuring their best interests were met.”

Commentary from Chambers and Partners shares that IDR Law’s ‘Senior Associate Richard Thomas is “very much one to watch in this field and is a compassionate adviser with a very good manner”

Suffice to say we’re proud of our achievements and rankings but we always work hard to continually improve, adapt to the needs of our clients and offer the best possible contentious probate service there is.

With offices opening in Manchester, Bristol and other locations in the not too distant, we’ll be ranking highly in other regions very soon too!
