On completion of her Apprenticeship she remained in the FM industry for a further 8 years starting out as a HR administrator before pursuing a career within Learning and Development. Here she encouraged colleagues, new or existing and from all levels and backgrounds, to increase their confidence, release their potential and transform their careers by embarking them on an Apprenticeship (from entry to Degree level) which was aligned with their development aspirations. Following her own ethos of always challenging oneself and growing, she completed and obtained a First Class Honours degree in Business Management and a CMI Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management in 2020.
Laura decided to change sector soon after completing her qualifications and joined IDR as Head of Client Relations in February 2021. What attracted her to the role was the opportunity to develop her project management skills and work closely with marketing to create cohesive campaigns which have allowed her to build relationships with both existing and new referrers.
Day to day Laura is the primary point of contact for anyone calling or emailing the practice and is responsible for taking details of new incoming enquiries from people who require help in resolving disputes and problems that arise in connection with Wills, probate and trusts. Laura’s role is to assess eligibility for legal assistance and explain the initial process for new clients, making sure their expectations are managed and that they walk away from their opening contact with IDR Law feeling reassured and confident that they have found a solution to their problem. Her empathy and listening skills and having a genuine passion for wanting to help people allows her to communicate effectively with all clients and form lasting relationships with those referrers who come to us direct.
Outside of work, Laura will most likely be found at the pub down the road from her home (working, not drinking!) where she heads up a team of waitresses Monday through to Friday evenings. She has recently moved into her first house with her boyfriend so any additional income is going towards making home improvements… and saving for a puppy!
