From the beginning, IDR has supported organic growth, but this doesn’t necessarily mean everyone needs to or wants to follow the same path!

It is so important to feel supported during your career and IDR recognises that this may take different forms for different colleagues at different stages of their lives.

Success in your own definition is the foundation of our approach, and each individual colleague is supported in forging their own path or at the same speed as others. Home life is not always predictable and if as a senior team member, you need more time at home for a period or to adjust billable hour commitments then these are accommodated. But no-one is pigeonholed into reduced working – career opportunities don’t disappear they just wait for you. Remember, because we only deal with CP work, it means that there are no limits on the number of partners or progress – it’s within your own gift and when you are ready, back yourself and we will support you.

At IDR, qualified lawyers can progress to Associate level, Senior Associate and Partner. All roles have clear specifications, and transparent guidance is provided to support all those seeking promotion.

Role specific learning and development within the IDRU:

SQE

We are committed to supported those choosing the SQE route to qualification.

IDR provides Qualifying Work Experience to SQE students, as well as providing support and mentoring through the process.

Although those on the SQE route are not required to undertake the Professional Skills Course, IDR encourages attendance at least 75% of its internal training sessions and completion of assignments via IDRU.

As a fundamental part of the team, client case work is undertaken daily, with emphasis on the development of skills in case management and client care.

This is all done with the meeting of the relevant competencies in mind and ensures that the QWE obtained is both technically and practically relevant.

Trainee Solicitor

IDR is committed to supporting the next generation of lawyers!

Those undertaking a traditional training contract must complete the Professional Skills Course before they can be admitted.

Through IDRU, we offer numerous electives for Trainee Solicitors to undertake in-house at times to suit them.

All Trainee Solicitors have a Trainee Supervisor and are supported by the Training Principal who undertakes 6 monthly appraisals and provides mentorship and guidance.

All Trainee Solicitors are encouraged to attend at least 75% of the firm’s in-house training.

Qualified Lawyer

At IDR Law we don’t just tick boxes. We make sure that the learning and development support for lawyers is tailored to support your own path to professional and personal development.

Continuing Competence is something that we take seriously but we try to make it as easy as possible to reach your own specific objectives.

IDRU offers comprehensive compliance training with interactive webinars as well as key practice and sector specific support – all delivered at a time that suits you.
