Levelling up in Law
There’s been much talk of ‘levelling up’ the country over the last year and at IDR Law, based in North Yorkshire, we’re pleased to say we’re doing our bit. We may have some way to go when you look at what we’re up against, but we’ve the vision, the drive and the knowledge to bring our expertise to those who need it, supporting organisations and individuals alike.
IDR Law is a firm of experts who deal in contentious probate, solely contentious probate, and one of our main aims – which we’re addressing in collaboration with our sister LegalTech company, Metrona technologies – is preventing inheritance disputes from occurring in the first place.
We’re proud of all our team and especially proud to announce that Martin Holdsworth, IDR Law’s Founder and Director, has recently been listed in the Legal 500 Hall of Fame: this is described by Legal 500 as, ‘highlighting individuals who have received constant praise from their clients for continued excellence. The Hall of Fame highlights, to clients, the law firm partners who are at the pinnacle of the profession’.
In Yorkshire and Humber, there are currently only 43 lawyers in the Hall of Fame across all legal disciplines and sectors.
Only 25 lawyers specialising in contentious trusts and probate anywhere in England and Wales have been listed and of those 25, only five are based outside of London.
Of the four other individuals based outside London, all work for large firms which have London offices, and all with significantly higher turnovers than IDR law.
Martin comments: “It’s always nice to get recognition like this personally although I acknowledge immediately that the team at IDR Law make me look good! I was over 30 years of age before I started to believe that being a successful lawyer was not about doing things the way that they have always been done, but rather bring your own particular character and skill set to the fore and make it work for you – being yourself is way easier, a whole lot more fun and will nearly always result in you being more successful. I derive great pleasure in seeing what we are achieving at IDR Law, but who doesn’t like a gold star every now and again?!”
