In Search of Excellence. Again.

We’re looking for another talented solicitor to join our team. IDR Law is based in Harrogate, North Yorkshire, but you don’t need to be. Our team is currently spread from Beverley to Derby – but, wherever you live in England or Wales, if you’re experienced in contentious probate and would like to join an innovative and nationally recognised specialist law firm: a firm where all members of the team are highly valued and you don’t have to generate your own leads, IDR Law could be the next step for you.

The current pandemic has meant huge changes for many, but at IDR Law we’ve continued work as normal. We set all our team up at home with a complete working office, VoIP phones, laptops, etc. The salaries are excellent and based on 5 chargeable hours in a notional day, with paid overtime for work over and above agreed hours.

At IDR Law we understand that people have lives outside work and that the ‘normal’ 9 – 5 hours don’t suit everyone. We’ve been operating remote working under our ‘Familyflex’ arrangement for a number of years, so many of our team are finding life during the COVID-19 pandemic not that different to life before it, except perhaps the extra demands of family life for those who have children at home.

Hear what some of our solicitors have to say:

‘IT set up at home essentially replicates what is in the office – we’re already set up for home working and we’re already operating paperless, there’s been very little adjustment needed… the ability to flex working hours and days that I can work around childcare has helped massively, otherwise that might have impacted on the hours I could work.’

‘IDR Law hasn’t changed, but the flexibility and autonomy which I already enjoyed has enabled me to adapt to home schooling/childcare commitments as and when needed without the stress you might encounter of rearranging your hours in a traditional law firm.’

‘Without the flexibility we would have struggled to both keep on working…the job is amazing… there are not many jobs like this in the legal world that give you the freedom without the worry of being self-employed.’

‘There’s never an issue about what hours I can or cannot work.  Particularly with COVID-19, as long as I meet the hours and my clients know when I am available, there’s never an issue on adjusting hours and days worked to suit home life.’

Martin adds – “I’m looking for more of the kind of people we have in the team already – a combination of experience (8 years of relevant probate dispute experience), ability to work autonomously with support and someone who would thrive in our culture of family and support for each other. If you are not sure – look at our existing team members! I started with a list of 10 solicitors I knew I wanted to work with nationally and have 4 of them working for us already – Hoping to hear from the other 6 and to be surprised by some I don’t yet know!”

To see what working at IDR Law would mean for you please contact Martin on 07887 726625 for a completely confidential chat.
