Cara and Jackie discuss the pressures that can be put on people when it comes to elder care, especially when it comes to their careers, which in turn is creating a shortfall in the workforce.

Jackie outlined some staggering stats, 600 people resign from work every day to undertake a care responsibility and 12,000 people become unpaid carers every day of the week, people are leaving their roles because they are not getting the education they need when it comes to elder care.

They both went on to discuss the education and strategies that can be put in place to help employees, some of which was around bereavement support.

A really interesting piece covering off some key issues around elder care and how we can educate ourselves so that we don’t end up as just another statistic.
