Tom went to Lancaster University and studied LLB law. Following this, he moved back to Manchester, where he’s from, and completed the LPC. While training/qualifying, Tom worked at Myerson Solicitors in South Manchester. He qualified in contentious probate and practised for four years. After those four years, he moved to Dubai and worked in-house for a company dealing with multi-jurisdictional arbitrations before eventually returning to the UK and joining IDR.
The first thing that stood out about IDR law to Tom is that we specialise in contentious probate. That is all we do, which conveniently is where his specialisation and interests lie. Another point of attraction was the ability to have high-quality work and a flexible approach to working, working from home, working from the office, working on big cases but keeping that work-life balance in check.
Outside of the office, Tom is a big Manchester City fan and a season ticket holder. With a big interest in sport, he also plays in a 5-a-side team in Manchester and has been getting into golf. While living in Dubai, he also got quite into paddle.
