Welcome Katie!

Katie is joining our team at our Harrogate office as our new senior paralegal. To help you get to know Katie better, we’ve asked her some questions about her previous work and what drew her to IDR Law. 

What were you doing before you joined IDR Law?

“So I only moved to Leeds in February last year from the Isle of Man – which is where I was qualified. My experience before IDR was in litigation, so working in contentious probate is something very new to me and I can’t wait to gain more knowledge and experience”. 

What drew you to IDR Law?

“I really wanted to get into probate or private client as my experience as an advocate was in litigation, so it was a perfect crossover for me. As well as this IDR Law seemed to have a really refreshing way of doing things, which felt very different to any other law firm I’ve experienced. I also really liked how friendly and nice everyone was at the office, and moving into a firm with fewer people also felt really appealing to me.” 

What are you most excited about?

“I think progression is something I am most excited about, as I am only at the start of my career and IDR seems very supportive. I am excited to gain more knowledge, training and experience, especially as I haven’t worked in contentious probate before. I am also looking forward to getting to know the rest of the team and exploring Harrogate!”

 What do you like to do in your spare time outside of the office? 

“Outside of the office, I have an interest in musical theatre, comedy and drag. And since moving to Leeds from the Isle of Man, I have been able to travel a lot more which has been great. I’m also currently planning my wedding.”
